I Think He’s Ahead Of Rehab Right Now, Doing A Real Good Job Taking Care Of His Business And He Cares. Davis Has Been Present During The First Week Of Fall Camp But Off To The Side And Not In Pads When The Team Has Been Practicing.

Davis underwent a procedure on his foot a few weeks back and on the opening day of fall camp, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn said the 6-foot-2, 219-pounder would be “week to week” in his recovery and return to the field. On Monday, wide receivers coach Kodi Burns provided a bit of an update on Davis, but not much in the way of clarity for a return date. “It’s really a day-to-day deal,” Burns said. “I think he’s ahead of rehab right now, doing a real page good job taking care of his business and he cares.” Davis has been present during the first week of fall camp but off to the side and not in pads when the team has been practicing. That’s not to say Davis hasn’t been active for Auburn. According to Burns, the freshman is in the training room “three or four times a day” for rehab purposes and has been handling his business in that aspect. While Davis is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation process, Burns wasn’t ready to give a potential return date for the receiver. Malzahn said last week that he expects Davis to be back to practicing “in the near future,” but has not given a target date. Burns did not rule out Davis being healthy in time for the season opener against Clemson on Sept.
